On the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the entry into application of the General Data Protection Regulation, the European Data Protection Supervisor, the German Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, and the Bavarian Data Protection Commissioner organise the high-level event: “5th Anniversary of the GDPR: Still a benchmark in the EU digital landscape?”.
To celebrate Europe Day, which marks the 73th anniversary of the 'Schuman declaration' symbolising the beginning of what is now the European Union - a unified continent providing Europeans with rights, opportunities and security, the European institutions open their doors to the public, to present their activities. The EDPS, together with the EDPB, will be present with a booth in Brussels on Saturday 6th of May, and in Strasbourg on Saturday 13th of May.

The European Data Protection Supervisor - EDPS organises a reception for the opening of its new office in the European Parliament in Strasbourg. With this new office in the European Parliament in Strasbourg, the EDPS aims to provide additional support in the EP legislative process, including during the plenary sessions, fulfilling its role as advisor to the EU legislators. The European Data Protection Supervisor - EDPS, the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation - Eurojust, and the European Public Prosecutor’s Office - EPPO, are hosting a conference on data protection in the field of criminal justice in the EU. The event will bring together data protection experts, criminal law practitioners and policymakers to reflect on data protection in criminal prosecution and judicial cooperation in the EU.
