EU approaches to data protection, competition and consumer protection share common goals, including the promotion of growth, innovation and the welfare of individual consumers.

Closer dialogue between regulators and experts across these policy areas can aid enforcement of rules on competition and consumer protection and stimulate the market for privacy-enhancing services.
