Budapest Cybercrime Convention
EDPS Opinion regarding the participation in the negotiations in view of a Second Additional Protocol to the Budapest Cybercrime Convention
To deal with the international dimension of data protection, the potential of legally binding agreements between countries should be fully exploited. Of particular note is the European Convention on Human Rights and the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data (Convention 108), adopted by the Council of Europe, which provides citizens with rights in many parts of the world. The EDPS is providing advice on the modernisation of Convention 108.
