IPEN Data Protection Day Workshop 2019

IPEN DATA PROTECTION DAY WORKSHOP 2019

IPEN workshops bring together privacy experts and engineers from public authorities, industry, academia and civil society to discuss relevant challenges and developments for the technological implementation of data protection and privacy.

For the first IPEN workshop in 2019, we followed up the EDPS preliminary opinion on privacy by design with two panels:

  1. Different Continents, Different Technologies: Can We Find Common Goals for Privacy Engineering?
  2. Advancing and Observing the State-of-the-art of Privacy Engineering: Can we get the web without tracking?

The first panel  was preceded by a keynote  given by the Assistant European Data Protection Supervisor Wojciech Wiewioroski. After the second panel, Thomas Zerdick - new Head of Unit ‘IT Policy’ at the EDPS - concluded with a summary  of the discussions.

Please refer to the agenda for further details, including the names of contributors.

The workshop was part of the “Brussels Data Protection Week” and a side event of the conference "Computers, Privacy and Data Protection (CPDP) 2019".
