Data Protection Regulation for EU Institutions
The Regulation 2018/1725 applicable as from 11 December 2018 brings the data protection rules for EU Institutions and bodies in line with the standards imposed on other organizations and business by the GDPR. It represents another vital step forward in the development of a comprehensive EU framework for data protection in the digital age. Read the press release.
Guidelines on Data Breach
The EDPS has issued guidelines on personal data breach notification for the EU institutions and bodies.
Under the new Regulation (EU) 2018/1725, all European institutions and bodies have a duty to report certain types of personal data breaches to the EDPS. If you have experienced a personal data breach, we advise you first to read our guidelines before submitting a data breach notification form.
Convention 108 - Stefano Rodotà award
The Committee of Convention 108 is pleased to announce the launch of the first edition of the Stefano Rodotà award, which aims to highlight innovative and original academic research projects in the field of data protection.
This prize will be awarded in honor and memory of the Italian Professor and politician Stefano Rodotà.
The aim of this initiative is to advance the thinking on data protection and to develop related policies, while giving increased visibility to creative and quality projects from the academic sector.
