Former European Data Protection Supervisor

Mr Peter J. Hustinx has been a driving force behind the evolution of data protection across Europe and beyond. He has been a true pioneer in shaping the privacy landscape. Mr Hustinx is a highly respected expert in data protection and privacy law who served as EDPS Supervisor from 2004 till 2015. Mr Hustinx contributed to the building of the new supervisory authority and developing its role at the EU level. Under his leadership, the EDPS not only established itself as an independent authority but became a powerful voice in shaping policies that protect citizens’ rights in an increasingly digital world.
