ARETE is the first edition of the Assessment of Risk to individuals of pErsonal daTabrEaches (ARETE) training exercise. It follows the successful implementation of the PATRICIA I, II and III exercises, and the Data Breach Awareness campaign, continuing a series of EDPS initiatives aimed at strengthening data protection capabilities across EU institutions and bodies.

Taking place in Brussels on 30 June 2026, the training is designed to enhance participant’s ability to model and assess the risks that personal data breaches may pose to affected individuals towards their fundamental rights.

On 8 June 2026, the EDPS, the BfDI, and the BayLfD are organising a high‑level debate to promote an informed and forward‑looking exchange on the European Commission’s Omnibus proposals and their implications for the GDPR and the broader EU digital regulatory framework, including the Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act). The event is kindly hosted by the Representation of the Free State of Bavaria to the European Union.

Following the presentation of the European Data Protection Supervisor’s Annual Report 2025 at the European Parliament, we invite you to a press conference during which Wojciech Wiewiórowski will present an overview of the EDPS’s activities during the year.

PATRICIA III is the third edition of a table-top cyberexercise, named “Personal dATa bReach awareness In Cybersecurity Incident hAndling” (PATRICIA). The exercise takes place on 25 March 2026, aimed to raise awareness about personal data breach management.
