Internationale Standards

Um der internationalen Dimension des Datenschutzes Rechnung zu tragen, sollte das Potenzial rechtsverbindlicher Abkommen zwischen Ländern vollständig ausgeschöpft werden. Besonders hervorzuheben sind in diesem Zusammenhang die Europäische Menschenrechtskonvention und das Übereinkommen zum Schutz des Menschen bei der automatischen Verarbeitung personenbezogener Daten (Übereinkommen 108) des Europarates, das Bürgern Rechte in vielen Teilen der Welt verleiht. Der EDSB erteilt Ratschläge zur Modernisierung des Übereinkommens 108.
